Girl-Centered Design, is a process of thinking, designing, and implementing how spaces, institutional policies, programs, and content can be created for girls and together with girls.
The Girl-Centered Design Support Circle began its journey in 2022 as part of the collective impact community of Suna’nın Kızları. Our support circle consists of civil society organizations, initiatives, and experts working in the field of children’s rights. We develop models, create content, and conduct research and monitoring efforts to expand the practice of girl-centered design.
Through regular online and in-person meetings, we aim to create inclusive models that respond to girls’ unique needs within safe and supportive environments, and to co-design creative interventions in times of crisis.
The Girl-Centered Design website, our first collective output, serves as a digital guide offering inspiration, ideas, and roadmap for public institutions, civil society organizations, and private-sector entities that try to look their work through a girl-centered lens. By following the steps suggested in this guide—or by adapting them to the unique needs of your field—you may contribute to girls feeling safer, stronger, and more supported.
